Client: - Parragon
Background
Leading book publisher Parragon works with many of the UK’s highest profile retailers including Marks and Spencer, Waterstones, Tesco and WH Smith, publishing approximately 2,000 titles every year and printing more than 50 million books worldwide.
Bartuf has worked with Parragon for more than three years and was delighted to be asked to design and produce a mobile children’s book fixture to be used in Debenhams stores across the UK.
Brief
- To design and produce a mobile fixture for children's books
- The unit must use clear materials to enhance the products and feature graphics to highlight the licensed books.
Solution
Bartuf’s design team worked on an innovative bespoke unit which was capable of holding a high volume of product with minimum footprint. The fixture needed to be mobile so that it could be moved around the children’s department.
All materials were reviewed and the final design featured a metal base with lockable castors, a polyester body and shelves. The 1.6 metre high cube design enabled books to be displayed on all four sides – offering capacity for up to 90 titles.
Disney graphics were produced in house and supplied with the cubes which were delivered to Parragon for distribution to Debenhams.
Outcome
The project was turned around in less than eight weeks with all design, graphics and production taking place within the Bartuf Group. The book cube fixtures are now in situ within the children’s department of 180 Debenhams stores across the UK.
Steve Davenport, Managing Director of Bartuf, said:
Parragon has a presence in the majority of British high street retailers and is a major force in the publishing world. This project was a great opportunity for Bartuf to show how its products can work well in displaying colourful children’s books.
The product works well in a children’s department, enabling customers to navigate round the entire fixture and allowing the retailer to maximize the impact of the products on show
