Bartuf Systems, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of retail display solutions, has been awarded a prestigious global retail marketing award for its work with the UK’s largest motorway services provider.

Holbeck-based Bartuf Systems is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of retail display solutions and has been shortlisted for the industry’s POPAI Awards for a recent large scale £1 million project for motorway service company, Moto.

The POPAI Awards recognise merchandising excellence in point-of-purchase advertising and are judged by a panel of industry professionals based on the display's ability to increase sales, secure retail placements and position the brand.

Bartuf Systems completed a six month, two stage project with Moto, designed to introduce the WHSmith brand into main motorway service areas and upgrade forecourt retail outlets.  The substantial project saw Bartuf deliver a two complete store concept solutions to each of Moto's 48 motorway service areas which involved the manufacture, supply and installation of all equipment including a unique queue management system designed by the company, to expand retail space.

Bartuf’s managing director, Steve Davenport explained how important the nomination is for the company and why the project deserves recognition: “Competition is fierce for these awards which really show the strength of the industry and recognise excellence in the ‘point of purchase’ market, so it’s fantastic to be nominated for such a prestigious accolade.

“This was a huge project and is now complete with WHSmith stores replacing Moto's own-branded stores.  Bartuf’s new queue management has provided additional retail space and has significantly increased sales of impulse purchases.”

Established in 1995, The Bartuf Group incorporates Bartuf Systems; Bartuf Graphics; Bartuf Europe and Bartrux.  Head-quartered in Holbeck, Leeds, the company boasts extensive experience in the design and manufacture of display solutions including graphics, print and point of purchase.

Via the company's production facilities in Armley and Hull, Bartuf has established a substantial national presence and a multimillion pound turnover.  The company is now recognised as a leader in the field of high quality display solutions and was recently named Yorkshire Business of the Year.  In addition, Bartuf featured in Insider Magazine’s “Fast 100 List” and was voted sixth in the POP League Table 2006 run by In-Store magazine.
